Sandtoft Gathering 30th & 31st
July 2005.

Rob and I visited Sandtoft on the Sunday
(31st July). When we arrived the weather was a bit dull...but dry. Before
too long the sun came out to play and it became quite nice for the rest of
the day.
As usual there was a large turnout for the
gathering and we soon began bumping into friends from all over the UK.
Apart from the usual trolley buses that are
based at Sandtoft, there were a large number of buses from around the
country, plus preserved lorries; cars and motor/cycles.
In addition there was lots to see and do
including: a Jazz band; a large fairground organ; 'try it yourself'
pottery; ' real ale' beer tent and a theatre 'slide show.
One highlight of our day was a ride on the
open topper 'MBE 613R' from 'The Stagecoach Fleetline Group' (See
their article here). We also had several 'Trolley' rides around
Sandtoft's own trolley circuit.
Here are a few photo's from our day at
Sandtoft:
A CD collection is available from our
'Pic's 4 Sale' page.
We hope you enjoyed our brief report from
Sandtoft. If you attended the gathering at Sandtoft 2005, then please send
us your report and we will publish it here for all to enjoy.
